Program Overview
The Summer Standard Training Internship Program at Arch Angel Agency is designed to immerse interns in the technical and strategic aspects of Cyber Operations (Cyber Ops) and Development Operations (Dev Ops). This program builds on the foundational skills introduced in the Spring Basic Training Internship and focuses on equipping interns with specialized knowledge and experience in these two critical areas. The program also provides cross-training opportunities, allowing interns to engage with other operational divisions to understand how their work integrates into the agency’s overall mission.
Key Learning Areas
1. Cyber Operations (Cyber Ops)
- Cybersecurity Fundamentals: Interns will gain a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat detection, risk assessment, and defensive strategies to protect digital assets.
- Digital Forensics: Learn the techniques for investigating and analyzing cyber incidents, including data recovery, trace evidence, and cybercrime analysis.
- Cyber Intelligence Gathering: Explore methods for gathering intelligence in the digital realm, including the use of open-source intelligence (OSINT), deep web exploration, and network surveillance.
- Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing: Engage in practical exercises that involve simulating cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities in systems and networks, and develop countermeasures.
2. Development Operations (Dev Ops)
- Software Development Lifecycle: Interns will be introduced to the complete software development lifecycle, from planning and coding to testing and deployment.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Learn how to implement CI/CD pipelines to automate software testing, integration, and deployment processes, ensuring that software updates are released smoothly and efficiently.
- Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Tools: Gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes) that are used to build, deploy, and manage applications in a scalable and reliable manner.
- Collaboration and Version Control: Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) to collaborate effectively in a development team, managing code changes, and tracking project progress.
3. Cross-Training with Other Divisions
- Integration with Hero Ops and Tech Ops: Understand how Cyber Ops and Dev Ops support frontline operations, such as providing secure communication channels for Hero Ops or developing custom software for Tech Ops.
- Collaboration with Psi Ops and Med Ops: Explore how cyber intelligence and software tools are used to support specialized operations in Psi Ops and Med Ops, including psychological defense and medical technology integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Cybersecurity Projects: Interns will participate in real-world cybersecurity projects, conducting penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and implementing security measures for agency systems.
- Software Development Tasks: Engage in development tasks such as coding new features, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance for internal tools and applications used by the agency.
- Collaborative Workshops: Participate in workshops focused on advanced topics such as ethical hacking, DevOps automation, and cloud infrastructure management, led by experienced professionals in the field.
- Project Presentations: At the end of the internship, interns will present their project work to senior agency staff, demonstrating the skills and knowledge they have acquired during the program.
Qualifications
- Basic Technical Knowledge: A foundational understanding of cybersecurity, programming, or software development. Completion of the Spring Basic Training Internship Program is recommended but not required.
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think critically and solve complex problems related to cybersecurity and software development.
- Collaborative Mindset: Willingness to work in a team environment, collaborating with other interns and agency staff to achieve common goals.
